I'm in the process of configuring a 2-axis gimbal on my hex with APM 2.5 and 3DR PM unit. I have two digital servos, that I'm trying to connect to RC5-8, as instructed in the Wiki to avoid a brownout. However, when I connect the servos, they go to their extremes, then stop moving...I've also noticed the MP crashes and I can no longer connect to the APM. I have to restart MP once or twice, then disconnect my USB.

The servos stabilize and work correctly on RC10-11, but I wanted to avoid running separate 5V lines or another BEC. I've verified that the servos are digital, so I don't understand why I'm getting no response on RC5-8.

Any ideas?

  • Figured it out. I was just an idiot and confused RC7-8 for A7-8. Now I'm just having an issue with servo chatter, but only with one servo...possibly bad servo I guess.

  • Just food for thought,, I plugged in my Aux3 to input channel 8,,, Running a octocopter so all 8 outs are being Used,, anyway long story short is almost same thing as you Mp locking up and no feed back from APM no matter what I did reload firm everthing I could think of but my would not come back to regular op even with the just 4 channels in,, it got shipped back to 3dr they are looking at it now,,,,,
