3 Years of watching... Need photo/vid platform...RTF Quad or ?

I have been a member lurking and now ready to make my move. Started with the Multiplex EasyStar and now I want to step up to a quad photo platform.

Do I buy a RTF ArduCopter or an RC Logger Eye 650 type quad?

Please help, need to perform aerial photo/video and surveillance over selected area.

It really depends on whether you want autonomy or not. ArduCopter is a real UAV, which is to say it's capable of fully autonomous missions (in addition to RC control). The RC Logger is just a RC quad. Nice design, but not a UAV.

Contests

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.
