3dr 433mhz radio combo

Hi,

Im looking at ordering the 3dr 433mhz radio combo but am a little confused. One would assume that the interface (vcc and ttl levels) should be 5v given that this is designed to interphase with the amp2 board, however the listed FTDI cable is a 3.3v one. Is this correct? And if so, is the raido being undervolted at the ground station, or over volted at the APM?

I guess the other option is the unit ships with a 5v FTDI cable and the listing is not correct in the store.

Thanks.

  • My set work fine with a cheap Chinese 3.3v TTL cable.  I don't see a voltage regulator on the carrier board, so I'm guessing they're just using a resistor as a voltage divider and giving you back some heat as change.

Hopefully the APM 3, which might come out in Q2 will be using 3.3v.  It would be a shame if they keep holding out, since they're already really late to the 3.3v party.
