I had a serious crash a couple of days ago where my 3dr Hexa suddenly lost power and fell like a rock, losing 2 arms and damaging the central tower. I don't know what happened since I wasn't using Mission Planner in that flight, so no log. I just know it was the 1st flight with a brand new battery and I blamed it initially, but that's another story.

Even though it was a tough fall, it only lost 2 arms and it's motors. Everything else is working ALMOST fine.

The remote 3DR telemetry v1 radio isn't working, even though it seems to be phisically undamaged, having a green solid light on from the moment I power the drone.

The local 3dr radio blinks the green light.

When I try to connect to the remote radio using Mission Planner it fails to find it.

It's the only thing that I'm still failing to recover is this radio.

Does anyone have any ideas to recover this radio, or is it lost to the world?

I hope that someone replies this time.

Regards,

António

  • Connect air radio via FTDI cable to PC and force bootloader mode (https://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/3DRadio#Forcing_bootl...). Upload current firmware (it should reset all values to default) and check, if you can connect to this module using cable. If no - I'm afraid it's lost.

    • Thank you! It worked perfectly!

      • Nice to hear that :-) Good luck.

        • Hey, I have a similar problem.

Though in my case the telemetry seems to have it's range reduced to a few meters. I have tried uploading the frame ware multiple times with no avail. Can you propose any solutions?

  • Yes, right port and right baud rate.
