AdruCopter Video Capture

I am newbie with experience in image processing.

I want to build a Adrucopter that takes HD video of the ground (not FPV).

I want to store the video locally and be able to view that video in real-time in the highest quality possible.

Obviously there must be tradeoffs as far as real-time vs quality video signal.

I am in the US as far as transmission laws go.

Also I am looking for something around 2000 or less.

What kit/design should I start with?

What additions will I need for the HD ground capture (GoPro with some sort of gimbal?)?

What sort of video transmission solutions are there?

Thanks for the help.

  • I'm not really clear on what you mean. You say view it in real-time. That's basically FPV, no? For analog standard definition you can get video transmitters for about $100 from places like Hobby King or other FPV focused sellers. For high definition there are options like the Teradek Bolt or Paralinx Arrow. Not sure by what you mean with $2,000 budget (everything or just the transmitter) but you can spend that much alone on an HD video transmitter. Also you'll need a license for the analog standard definition video transmitter. Most of the HD video transmitters don't require a license.
