Just want to throw this one in there for thought, would it be possible to add an option to trigger the relay when a waypoint is reached and the copter is flying level?

In other words, i would like to trigger my camera to take a snapshot when it hits the desired 3d location, then move on?  This would be so useful for aerial mapping etc and really simple to implement.

I am rigging up a heavy lift with  canon using chdk and could do so manually but it would be amazing to be able to program a desired altitude and an area to map and have the arducopter work out the waypoints and trigger points (i guess this is more for the mission planner).  i relaise field of view will play a part in this but as long as the areas all over lap we should be ok?

Perhaps something like this exists already, forgive me if this is the case!

AttoPilot has always had this feature and better still, motor off, wings level take photo start motor resume nav.

But that won't work so well for multi's

I am looking for- and have been asking about the same thing. I think I read somewhere this was possible in previous versions of APM, but is no longer supported. I can however not find the post anymore, and have not received any answers to my questions, so I can not tell for sure.

I am however sure someone here must be able to give a proper answer to the question.

See here, there are pins on the IMU: http://www.diydrones.com/group/arducopterusergroup/forum/topics/cam...

There's also software in the mission planner to trigger the camera at a specific point
