Cannot get to respond to transmitter, the flight data responds to transmitter inputs and movement of the boards, also the flight mode doesn't change to changes in the switch position.  I do see motor outputs respond to the flight mode switch when it is changed.  Motor output status always indicates not armed.  Any advice on what is causing the problem.  I have worked my way through a number of software issues, just cannot solve this one.  Thanks.

What board are you using? APM or regular Arduino?
I am using the APM, I purchased it from Sparkfun last week. Also when I connect to the Configurator I get a popup window that says "Flight control software version 2.0 or higher is required to make all features of the configurator to work properly". When configurator is running it displays "hardware configurator v1.7 or less". Thanks, Ed
Hmm. I haven't seen any of those errors. You've loaded the latest ArduCopter code on the board?
Chris,

Since Ed is using the Aeroquad Configurator, it is looking for the version 2.0 software that runs on the Arduino Mega/Aeroquad Shield V2.0 and not the ArduCopter code.

TCIII,

I did notice everyting for ArduCopter is V1.4. I am able to program the Arducopter just have to some interpution.

Thanks,

Ed
I am running the Aeroquad Configurator instead of the ArduCopter Configurator. I have found the configurator file tree but don't have a clue how to load or start it. I have downloaded the National Instruments software and have it in my system. Can you help, is there an instruction that I have missed that I can follow. I have tried to use National Instruments software in the past and find it hard to set up but looks and works great when running properly. I don't recognize anything in the file tree.

Thanks again, Ed
Okay, no wonder nothing's working. Please start again with the ArduCopter manual. It may not be perfect, but at least it's better than randomly combining ArduCopter and AeriQuad software.
Actually enough is working to do a basic setup. I can't complain when the software is free and the electronics are as reasonable as they are. I have spent about 20 hours trying to figure out the configuration software, I don't know where to start with the items in the "tree". I can't find anything to open in the National Instruments programs either. I am not complaining because I am finding this part difficult, I just started with the Arducopter three weeks ago, have acquired most of the electronics, have them assembled and entered the code. I have seen the changes in the manual over the past week and greatly appreciate it. I have a Gaui 330X that I am going to use for testing the electronics. I am replacing the ESC's in the Gaui because I can't get them to respond evenly and of course the thing just flips out. I am scratch building a new frame using arrow shafts and machining adapters for the ends of the shafts.

Thanks again, Ed
I finally figured it out, I don't get hung up on the complicated stuff, just the simple things. Any I right clicked on the .exe file and used "save as", I normally do copy and paste.

Great stuff, look forward to the evolution of this product.

Thanks, Ed
