Airspeed Error When Battery Monitor Connected

I am using APM 1.0 with the latest software (2.5.3). I just added the wires to monitor battery voltage and noticed that the Mission Planner now displays airspeed up to 9 or 10 but then displays airpseed as 0 when I disconnect the battery monitor wires.

What could be the problem//solution?

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.
