I was wondering if there was a simple built in way of streaming the GPS data of the plane out of Mission Planner into Plugin software to drive a RS-232 Antenna Tracker system?
The info that is needed is Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude. I have a friend that is willing to write a basic Plugin to communicate the info to the serial-Servo driver.
If this info streamable from Mission Planner that would make it easier.
Any insight into this would be helpful...

Is there a manual somewhere how to connect the APM to the PC, which output are for the servo's, etc...
ardutacker is meant for the old 328 boards, not 1280 boards

Would this be eventually possible if someone wrote the code for this or adapt the old software to the 1280?
it would be easy to do, as all the leg works has been done using just apm drivers

Another question for your but not on the tracker.
I noticed that there is many other item/features in the menu along with the tracker. Can we get some directions on what they are for and how to utilize them. I'm sorry to ask this if it is in the wiki but i have not been able to find it.
Thanks for all your help and support.
Joe
I Finaly got my tracker going
i will create a better setup guide for those who use a maestro.

all the stuff at the top is for copying APM's
mag calib is as the name suggests, its the same thing as in the hardware setup screen.
geo ref images is for matching a log to images taken with a camera.
lang edit is for converting parts of the planner to other languages

I have geo referenced VFR sectionals that I would like to utilize. Will it read those?
Thanks for all your help
you need to use globalmapper. or a program that can save google earth tile format.
Permalink Reply by Joseph on March 30, 2012 at 10:30pm could I email to you the geotiff files and have you convert them to the correct format?
I would really appreciate you help.
Thanks
Joe
Joe, have a look at this tool
http://www.maptiler.org/
that should get the image in a format the planner can read in
Permalink Reply by Shawn Wang on August 7, 2012 at 8:56am hi, Micheal. I built my antenna tracker with a 360 degree pan servo and a slip-ring unit which can do continous rotation. It can do 360 degree rotation, but it has to return back to the position of 1 degree. So with Mission Planner and ardutracker software, how can I get it to relaize continous rotation without back to any position less than 180 degree? And, I would like to enjoy with you how to make the antenna tracker as below, even post freely some materials you need.
Shawn, can you give me an example of the problem.
