I just received my ArduPilot Mega (pre-assembled) and I am trying to upload the latest firmware (AuduCopter V2.1.0 Alpha Quad) and I keep getting this error in Mission Planner.

"Failed to read firmware.hex : Index was outside the bounds of the arrary.",

can anyone give me some advice on what I might be doing wrong or help fix this error.

this apears to be a problem with the mission planner

ill will update shortly

Thanks for your help

ive just uploaded planner 1.1.8, which fixes this issue.

Great thanks for the quick update

Hey fellows,

I'm also facing the same firmware update problem on my APM1 Quad. I'm using Mission Planner 1.0.68. How should I go about troubleshooting?

BTW, during the update process, should the switch be away from the RC pins or towards the pins?

I noticed when I tried to use the "Check for Updates" function in the Mission Planner, it didn't go to completion, hanging at the "version.txt" step. Could that be the problem?

please download a newer planner version. from here

Thanks Michael.
