I recently relieved my drone from udrones.com with the AMP 2.0/adrupilot included. My question is how does the board get power in flight? the only way it gets power now is because it is hooked up to the USB in my computer. Brand new to this and need some help. Thanks!
It gets power from the ESC's BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit), with is the voltage regulator built into the onboard ESC. That comes into APM2 via the Output pins. In the case of a plane, it's the Channel 3 (throttle) connector.
ok, now when I plug the battery in the motor starts beeping the entire time, no idea what this means...also I know the ailerons are connected to port 1, but I have two wires one for each wing, what should I do? thanks!
You need a Y adapter for your ailerons. Perhaps your plane kit came with one? As for the motor, have you set your RC inputs yet in the Mission Planner configuration process?
In general, you should have some familiarity with RC aircraft before you start with a UAV. I suggest you learn to fly your aircraft in regular RC mode before you install APM2 and attempt autonomy.
Most people already have their own RC equipment (again, UAVs are not meant for people with no RC experience). You won't be able to use it until you get that. Do you need advice on what kind to get? (if so, pls give price sensitivity)
The Turnigy 9x is probably the best deal under $200, although it's on backorder. At the higher end, Spektrum RC gear is popular, such as the DX6i. As for batteries, the standard 2200s are fine. (I assume your plane came with an ESC with an XT60 battery connector). You'll also need a charger and power supply.
If you don't want to wait you can get a 9X here.
Does that remote come with telemetry or do you have to but the telemetry receiver with it too?
I power the APM 2 from the ESC. I connect the battery to the ESC when the start up process finished all works except the brushless motor, It seem to me that the esc process start up was not completed. I was able to move all channel except channel 3 and chose any fly condition but motor did not works.
The only way to make the channel 3 or brushless motor works is connecting the Mission Planner software to the APM2 run the connection process and disconnect it.
Since there on it works perfect.
Could you please help me what am I doing wrong or what should I checked?
Thank in advance
