APM 2.5 or CRIUS AIOP V2

Hi fellow DIY'ers. I'm planning to create a foam board type Plane. I just can't figure out if it's okay to Use the CRIUS AIOP v2 than APM 2.5? The APM is kinda expensive so i've searched for alternative solution. Is it worth it if i'd rather buy the Crius v2 or the APM? Thanks in advance!

  • Okay Sir. Nice tips for a newbie like me. I better go with Crius since i can buy it from Lowdoghobby site. one more thing is, i saw a video post of someone here in DIY Drones that he can fly a v-type plane using Crius AIOP as a flight controller. Thanks again guys for sharing your Info! :)

  • Crius AIOP V2 will not run APM. It will run MegaPirates, a port of APM that is now old firmware and I do not think the Plane version was ever widely used. Get an APM 2.6/APM 2.5. They are both relatively cheap. You can get clones for $50. Used ones for even less. They run current firmware.

    • Okay Sir. Thanks for the tips. I'm wondering if there's a APM Clone here in Philippines. So, if i buy the APM clone, does it mean that i won't need to configure the firmware?

      • Clones are often better for APM as 3DR stopped developing the APM. You can get APM 2.7 and 2.8 with design improvements.
