APM 2.5 Parameters Reset after Writing

I have an APM 2.5 and a Minim OSD (3DR equipment)  When I go into Mission Planner and change the SR1 and SR0 Parameters to allow for the APM to send data to the OSD they change back to defaults.  After I'm done editing the parameters I click the Write parameters button and then hit refresh and the parameters have reset to the default.  I have read about this problem on several different sites, but have not seen a solution.  Also when I click the Allow telemetry button in the initial OSD setup tab nothing happens.  So I have decided to try and post the problem here to see if the professionals can answer the problem.

I'm also using th latest version of mission planner download from the source

Thanks

IF you connect with telemetry using the same port as OSD, it will reset the values, the fix is to change the parameters in the MP (Or APM Planner 2.0) setup screen, so when MP (AP2) request the parameters it uses your preferred values

    • Is there anyway that you could be more specific about how to do what your suggesting? I'm kind of new to all this and just trying to figure things out. Thanks

        http://planner.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-telemetry-port-setup-for-a...

For APM Planner 2.0 select the Config/Tuning section and then the APM Planner 2.0 Config Button
        • It looks like that wiki page only applies to pixhawk and px4. I have a apm 2.5. I don't think some of those parameters or tabs are on the apm 3.2.1

This is the screen shot of where you set the data rates http://dev.ardupilot.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2013/06/Mission... so when MP request them, the same values will be used that you require. It doesn't matter that it's APM2.5 or Pixhawk HW.
            • Having the same problem of a not-updating MinimOsd I tried to change the data rates in the Planner setup screen you said, but after a powerdown and reconnect to the Mission Planner the values are reverted to the old values. Same as when I change them from the full parameter tree. Any solution out there? I'm feeling kind of childish having to jump loops to no end only because no one of those "in the know" is capable of writing a clear five sentence step-by-step on how to get this freaking Minimosd working with Apm or even given a comment about this problem that would be in some way understandable to someone not involved in the development.

This is hurting APM as well. On my other copter it works, but not the slightest idea why. BAD documentation, guys, sorry to say...

Also, please update your "forum" soft to something apt for the 21st century. Know it won't happen, but can't hurt to say it again and again, right?

              • I've been following this too, and I have to agree with Zidlov.

I realize that APM has reached the end of the development cycle, but that does not negate the fact that there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of APMs in service, and it amazes me that something as seemingly simple as getting the APM to send data to the telemetry port AUTOMATICALLY is so difficult to describe to those of us that don't eat and sleep Ones and Zeros.

So here is the "fix" from a non-coder:

Make your changes to SR1, not SR0.  SR0 is the USB port,  SR1 is the telemetry port..

I have attached "Before" and "After" pictures.  I will post a video on YouTube shortly...

    • Could you clarify which setup screen you referring to in mission planner ?  or where the setup screen your referring to is located.   Thanks for responding

  • Has anyone experienced this problem or know of a solution to it.
