I have a faulty apm 2.5 that must have a short somewhere between output 1 and 2 as they always fire at the same time.I do not want to wait again for shipped parts if i dont have to...Is there a way to have the software use outputs 3-6 for quad or 3-8 for a hexa? Thanks for any info

The source code for ArduCopter could be modified to change the outputs but that means you'd have to manually compile/configure/install it each time instead of using the mission planner (which is a lot faster and easier). If the board really is faulty I'd take the time to work with 3DR support to get it replaced.
