Good morning Gents

May I kindly ask for advise.

Documentation of this complex issue is a big job.

Sometimes it drives me nuts, as th the version I have looks completely different than in the docs.

Anyhow, as I think I have blown the uart 3 on my APM1, I ordered the 2.5 which I received today.

Want to connect 3DR Radios to the board- but where? The Wiki shows only the 2.0 board.

Have read that the USB and 3DR cn´t be used together so I guess it should be Uart0 ?

WOuld be anyone so kind and enlighten me how to

many thanks in advance

Whoops-- good catch. I forgot to update that, sorry! I've now updated the page here, with some basics on that connection, but will add one more picture tonight when I'm with the gear.

As 5 pins and I have to get one here in Austria, the wiki 2.0 shows the connection only for 4 pins.

would you kindly let me know pins order as seen from Top of board starting outside:

1

2

3

4

5

or can I simply solder pins to the free Uart0 port in the meantime and use the old style pin connector?

many thanks in advance

Good Evening,

answered myself.

Yes you can solder the pins to UART0 and it works with the old style connector.

First time receiving datas from the AP. I am somewhat happy.

I have a problem with my air/APM2.5 module not having any power and I think I just figured it out with the picture posted in the link.  It looks to me like the APM 2.5 I received has the cable mount part reversed on the board when compared to the install instruction link.  Can you confirm this is the case and I'll unsolder the mount. Thanks,

That certainly appears to be the case. The socket should be mounted so that the red/vcc wire is toward the inside of the board. Kind of funny that the new connector was supposed to prevent plugging in telemetry backwards... LOL!  Now you're forced to. :D  Anyway, after a good chuckle, have you let the store you got it from know yet? I'm sure it'll be taken care of. Either that or don't bother desoldering- just pull the pins out of the telemetry cable connector and replace them in reversed order.

Thanks John I think I'll reverse the wires in the connector for the easy fix.

Looks like you have a defective board with the connector placed the wrong away around. That's the first I've seen (I just checked a couple dozen other boards and they were the right way). Unless you're very good at soldering, I suggest you get a RMA and have it replaced.

Bought it through Diydrones and I think I'm gonna just reverse the wiring in the head so I don't have to pay for any shipping. Thanks for reviewing the post.

Same situation here, PM connector is reversed on the board.

I'll workaround it myself without an RMA too.  Got the board with a full hexa kit from diydrones ordered on 12/09.  FWIW, my kit was also missing one prop collet.

Onward to ESC calibration....
