Currently experimenting with various alternatives to the 3DR Telemetry Radios, but have run into a bit of bother.
When connecting via 3DR radios in APM Planner everything works fine:
Parameters downloads and I can Upload and Download Waypoints etc.
I have tried various alternatives including using Openlrsng and ULRS but end up having the same problem:
Parameters do not upload even when leaving for long periods, when I cancel the parameter upload, Airspeed ALT Roll and Pitch GPS updates without problem, but I can not upload or download Way points. It seems to timeout.
I then tried connecting through FTDI and have exactly the same problem. I am trying to connect at 19200 Baud.
Have tried various versions of APM firmware but have the same results.
Has anybody had similar problems?

I'm using Ultimate LRS ( http://www.itluxembourg.lu/site/ ) with great pleasure, a user made 40 km with it ( http://www.itluxembourg.lu/site/ultimate-lrs-40-km-setup/ ) and it works fine with APM / Pixhawk.
