I have been sitting here trying to get a lock with my GPS while outside for about 10 mins. No luck. I generally get a lock between 30-60s when outside. My GPS has worked fine previously.
Other than the CLI test (which only works if I have lock anyway), is there a way to check GPS function?
If my GPS unit turns out to be no longer functioning, what options do I have with the APM2? Since my GPS is soldered directly to the board, is it possible to get another and use an extension? I don't trust my soldering abilities enough to remove and replace the current unit
Thanks

Permalink Reply by Will Snodgrass on September 10, 2012 at 7:44pm The same problem can have a whole bunch of causes. I reported mine earlier in this thread, Chris did his best to help me out.... And the problem ended up being in a short while soldering that would normally have not allowed the board to power up at all. Thing is I was using a a BEC as a second power source through the Input rail, and by some fluke that allowed everything else to power up and work save for the GPS.
Now theres no way in hell that could have been figured out without seeing the board, but Chris did an awesome job helping get a working unit and another member ended up with my board and fixed it right off that bat.
Im saying this because while at first blush it may seem like 10 pages of people with the same problem, but that's not the case. Instead it's people with the same symptom....from a variety of reasons, allot of which have been fixed, others where they simply need to see the board to figure out what's going on.
Permalink Reply by Jeremy Gore on September 13, 2012 at 3:38pm Quick question,
I have sent my APM2 back, but havent heard from anyone. Its been probably a week and a bit since they should have received it. I emailed them to confirm it arrived, no response, emailed again 3 days later for an update, no response.
Is there a particular email address i should be using? just been emailing help@3drobotics.com
Jeremey: I've pinged the customer support team to have them check this out.
Permalink Reply by Jeremy Gore on September 13, 2012 at 6:09pm Thanks Chris, I wasn't emailing them to harass, I just wanted to firstly confirm that they received it and see how they were going. Thanks heaps for your help.
You seem to be the go to man when we need a response. Much appreciated.

Permalink Reply by Jake Barritt on April 12, 2013 at 8:26am I also was not able to get a GPS lock unless it was plugged into the UBS. I had my gps line ziptied next to my servo wires. I cut the ziptie and gave the gps line a little room and it solved my issue.
