I have a suspected BEC blowout.

Fully charged configured and ready to fly. Replaced my servo (the one that went mental) and  re-checked everything with debugs. I turn on and instead of the 3 chirps of startup I get nothing.

Of the 3A from the BEC APM with its bits eats up 750mA according to an earlier post so I have 2250mA for three servos and the receiver. The receiver is stated at being 80mA so lets say thats generous and take my reserve to 2000mA. Surely three servos are not drawing 2000mA.

Everything is installed by the manual and up to date. 0 compilation errors and passed all the debug checks. Only running hardware manual, stabilize and FBW_B.

Have I setup something in the config wrong maybe?

In the plane:

  • 2x Cirrus CS-301 9g servos (elevons)
  • 1x SuperTec Park JP 18g servo (rudder)
  • eTronix 40A ESC (3A BEC)
  • Hacker A30-16M (35A burst)
  • APM with Oilpan
  • MediaTek GPS
  • Futaba R617FS receiver
  • Overlander 3S 2200mAH 11.1v LiPO

Ritchie,

A stalled servo can draw over 2000ma. Make sure all of your servos move freely.

Ah so it was my original servo problem, nice to know I was correct about the BEC. Thank you TCIII for the info
It's not practical to try to debug your setup remotely.

Remove the APM from your configuration first, and work out whether the rest of the equipment is working correctly.

Note that APM itself is still in Alpha test. If you're having trouble with this sort of basic setup, it may be a good idea to hang back and wait for things to settle down a bit more. Right now, fielding your questions is taking up a considerable amount of time that might otherwise be spent on getting a solid beta release ready to go.
