APM Board Solar-Powered Plane

Hello everyone,

I am part of a group research project that aims to create an unmanned solar powered plane using the APM 2.6 board. Ultimately, the final product will be able to navigate through programmable GPS waypoints, and also collect external data such as temperature and air pressure, and other things like velocity, acceleration, power consumption, etc.

I am in charge of the controls (specifically, the Arduplane electronics), and as I do not have experience in using Arduino, or Arduplane for that matter, any help would be much appreciated.

Other than the APM 2.6 Board and 3DR Power Module, what specific components will be necessary? And for those who have done similar projects, what would be the next steps?

Right now, I plan on connecting a 4-channel R/C with the board, but that is all I have up to this point.

Thanks!

Christian, I think folks worry about doing research projects for students.

Here's my contribution you will need more channels, so far you have yaw pitch roll and throttle. You have none left to command the APM.
