I have a new quad with APM2.6 and Ublox GPS. I am using a Turnigy 9x (version 2) with the FrSky DJT module and FrSky D8R-XP receiver in PPM mode. Everything seems to be working and the quad does fly. My issue is configuring the 9x to run the different flight modes. I have followed the APM copter setup instructions and have just one 3-pin cable from the Rx channel 1 to the first input on the APM. Do I still need the connection from Rx channel 6 to input 5 on the APM? It was my understanding I needed just the one connection when in PPM mode. I have not tried the 6 -5 connection for fear of blowing something up.
I have followed the transmitter set up for mixing according to several sites I have found on line including the one listed below. Following the instructions in the link (I used gear for channel 5) I open mission planner and I can see in the radio calibration page that flipping the gear switch moves the radio 5 bar but moving the 3 position function switch moves the radio 6 bar. In the flight modes page, I can toggle between modes 1 & 6 using the gear switch but can’t get any others selected. I found someone describing a similar problem in these forums and they again talk about connecting Rx 6 to APM 5. Hopefully someone can help me out here. As indicated above, I’m afraid of letting the magic smoke out of the APM if I connect something wrong. Thanks in advance for any input.
