Can anyone tell me when the APM2 will be available?

Permalink Reply by Leigh Green on July 16, 2012 at 4:36pm Sorry that was Assembled - tried to have the order changed to un, but Chris said it would need to be a whole new order, so didn't want to delay any further. Then again as accomplished a solderer as I am, I just spent an hour or more soldering about 100 risers on an arduino mega proto board and it was a real pain in the arse...so I think I am glad I'm getting the full assembled now...:)
Oh dear though...A second order I put in (for ardustation) with instructions to ship with the APM order says on my account that it is still processing and not shipped with the original order...even though Chris said to make sure I just put something like "Ship with original order" and shipping was to be "Bill to my Fedex account..." - I hope it's just a clerical error - the order says backordered, yet all stock is in...not sure what's going on there...

I just got my APM2 kit. I wanted a kit so I could have end connectors – I sure with that they would offer that option on assembled boards.
The kit came with a separate resister and diode but I can’t find the instructions on where to install them. What is the purpose of those parts?

These are a fuse (not a resistor) and zener diode. They make up a crude but effective protection circuit.
Copied from the UnmannedTechShop.co.uk
Here are instructions on how to solder the new diode and fuse onto your Ardupilot Mega 2 board.
Firstly you will get 2 components with your board. A pico fuse (top), and a zener diode (bottom)
The fuse you need to solder onto your power input to your APM (either your ESC wire, or from your PDB if you are flying an arducopter)
Its a good idea to put some heat shrink over that to avoid shots.
Next you must solder the zener diode onto your ardupilot mega board.
The diode is soldered onto your 5V and GND of the APM2 OUTPUT rail as shown above. Make sure its connected the correct way around

Henk
