I have the signal and ground wire from 5 of my esc's plugged into the APM2, and the signal, +5v and ground wires connected from motor #1 to the APM2.

So only 1 esc is powering the APM2 when the battery is plugged in.

When I plug the battery in, The lights on the APM2 turn on and some start flashing, and the motors start beeping but they never stop beeping.

Even if the USB cable is plugged into the APM2, I still get beeping motors.

And because of this, I can't calibrate or test my motors.

I'm using Turnigy Plush 18A ESC's, and BP 2217-9 motors with a 5Ah Turnigy Nano-Tech lipo.

The transmitter is calibrated and works great in the Mission Planner, All sensors also work.

Has anyone else had the same issue? What am I doing wrong?

You need to program the escs with the range of your throttle. Do this: plug one of the escs into the throttle channel on the receiver(taking apm out of the loop), power on TX and put throttle at full, next you will power on just that one esc and it will beep, Immediately after it beeps move the throttle to lowest setting, it will beep one confirmation and then no more. Power off esc. Repeat this for each of the esc units... one at a time, and then plug them all into the apm again. You are done.

I'm experiencing the same problem, and have calibrated the ESCs both manually and automatically, and still nothing. I believe I have a problem w/ the APM though, as it's returning gibberish in the terminal.

I also get gibberish in the terminal but once I hit "Enter" 3 times, the gibberish goes away.

I'll try resetting the throttle range on my ESC's and see if that helps.

It's not gibberish, it's binary MAVLink. That's normal.

Thanks david!

I manually set the throttle range on the ESC's and after that they stopped beeping.

I'm now happily flying my hexacopter with APM2.
