Here is something confusing to me........ My APM2 will not arm the motors until I push the reset button.

I use a 7.4v batt through a BEC to power the board. All of my esc's are opto isolated. I run a 5800mah 4s batt for the motors. I have powered the board both ways with or without the jumper through the input and output. The only way I can arm the motors is resetting the APM2 while the batteries are plugged in either by pushing the reset button or unplugging and replugging the APM2.

 Any ideas?

Same issue for me too. It happens very early APM2 and Turnigy 25A BEC. There looks like two issues on APM2 initialization. One is that the APM2 fails to start up after resetting or power on resetting. Other is that the initialization failure of BEC by APM2. I am not sure hardware problem and or AC2.4.1.

Replay myself. It looks like the problems on the power up sequence. I am using SBEC for APM2 and other electronics. The different timing of power up of SBEC and BECs may cause those issues, may be in my case. Workaround is something like this, apply power to BECs first then supply SBEC power to APM and others later. The firmware is ArduCopter_241xp2_DCM instead from AC2.4.1.

Recently i bought APM2.0 purple board and setting up with X525 Quad kit and i am in testing phase .

When i switch on the power on my quad (APM2) only Blue LED comes up & stays solid..I can't arm the motors. If i press the reset button , Then Blue & Red led's blink and i am able to Arm/DisArm the motors..I saw so many ppl were reporting this problem ..Is this a known issue ? or The type ESC's/Motors/Tx/Rx causing this issue..Pl's help me if anybody has resolved this..

No, it's not a combo, it's the APM2.0 code. This is a known bug all over this forum that when powering via the ESCs (not the USB on the bench) the APM doesn't want to boot correctly and hitting reset is required.

Plug in battery, then hit reset. It's that simple.

Thx..

I did not have this problem until I changed my quad from + to x. I changed back to + and it worked fine again (both modes BEC powered).

Changing back to x and I tried powering from a 'dumb' usb power supply and the board still did not boot after its first boot being plugged into a PC- it seems that it needs some (any?) data on the USB port to boot correctly as when it is plugged into a computer USB it boots fine every time.

I can replicate the problem while in + mode by unplugging the battery and plugging it back in within a couple of seconds.

I am using HK 30A BEC ESC. Arducopter V2.5.4 Quad
