Would like to start with complimenting everyone on here with the rather impressive hard & software development.

Obviously, I'm into boats & quite surprised that so far there don't seem to be a lot of people that have picked up on the fact that the ArduPilot/IMU could potentially be very interesting for many different water craft applications!?

Got a few questions:

1. Does anyone have any insights if ArduPilot & specifically the ArduIMU+ V3 has the capabilities to allow for implementing the parsing of the orientation/positioning data to the common format used in marine applications?! NMEA 0183 (RS422) is the older still widely used format & there's a new CAN bus based NMEA 2000 format.

2. Could there possibly also still be capacity left for adding more sensor inputs like speed through water, depth, wind dir & speed, etc, etc.?!

3. The ArduIMU+ V3 looks very interesting with it's sensor data fusion capabilities that could potentially increase accuracy tremendously compared to previous MEMS based IMU solutions. However, do I get the impression that development is halted by the manufacturers closed source issues?!
