Can someone tell me what the 1.x means in the title of this forum?
Is it firmware or frame related or something else?
I assumed it was firmware related and that this forum would have died by now.
The reason I ask is that there are 6 question in the first 3 page that haven't been answered.
Is this because the majority of people now use the ArduCopter 2.x forum and don't see the questions?

I'm at a point where reading the responses (which have shown that my inquiry has only been truly understood by one individual ... the only one that is "officially" involved) is doing nothing but urging me to post yet another defensive reply. Perhaps by the time I'm able to fully describe the issue in a manner that's comprehensive and non-offensive, a proper set of design files will have been "officially" released. In the meantime, fly safe...

Jason, I don't think your analogy is quite right. You didn't throw dirt on the carpet, rather you stepped on a land mine and are now being criticized for the mess you made.
I think your statements are very valid, and presented in a way that are not at all unreasonable.

Its simple. 1.x means all software builds below 2.0 for Qudrocopters. I am not exacly sure with what SW release Jason implemented multirotors other than quads.
2.x means SW builds revision 2.0 and up for multirotors.
About unanswered questions, have a look at the date. Maybe the questions are old or discussed and solved somewhere else.
Did that help?
Anyway, welcome to the project and fly safe.
Best
Christof

Thanks for the info.
It surprises me that people would still be flying 1.x. I assumed people would fly 2.x or stick with the old Ardupirates.
Anyway, thanks again.

Everybody can do as he likes. Always depending on your budget for new hardware and the platform you use. I for my part go foreward with the newest SW and HW releases ( and with the new bugs ).
If you did not decide yet what releases to use, my guess would be APM2 and 2.5.4.
Cheers
Christof
