ArduCopter take off problem

Hi

I had some problems in past and with help of DIY forum users I solved them, it was starting motors and controlling them with controller. Now I have another problem, problem of balance and take off.

Here is my video:

Here is current situation of my QuadCopter. (sorry it was 41MB HQ movie so I uploaded it to 3rd part site)

Please check it. I see different power in motors, no balance at all. Any advice about it?

Also I should mention, sometimes when I keep my motor in MAX power for a while like 4 second, suddenly entire motors and APM turns off. Any advice about this one?

Thanks and looking for your valuable comments

I saw this page also:

https://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2_Tweaks

How should I tweak and find those values for my 2 Quad frames, one with 295Kv other with 930Kv, one is small, other one is large. Any ideas?

Thanks

  • Hi Mark,

Have you calibrated your IMU in the mission planner yet?

You need to make sure the quad is perfectly flat and run through the calibration process.

The problem with the APM turning off, check that your ESC's voltage cut-off is set to low. As you increase the throttle the voltage will drop and if your cut-offs are too high you ESC's will shut down. Another thing could be that you ESC's might be rated to handle a lower current than your motor's max current meaning it will automatically shutdown to prevent damage. In order to find the PID values for the quads you need to do hand and flight tests in order to determine if you want it you react faster to change or what ever you need. There is no other way to find them.

Just a few things that popped to my mind.
