Arduino IDE that can handle multiple source files
I was going through Jordi's code and he talks about multiple "tabs". I've used Visual Studio (C#) for a couple of months, and have wanted an IDE that will let me do something similar with my Arduino, particularly with Jordi's code. But how do you do it? The official Arduino IDE only allows one file (sketch) at a time.
Maybe Jordi could describe the setup he is using to compile the code. I'm not really a programmer. I just know enough to cause a lot of frustration and suffering, but I would like to make my suffering more efficient

Hmm I thought it did have tabs..
I haven't used it since the start of this year but I vaguely remember it having a tabbed interface.

The IDE does have tabs, but each tab represents a different file.

I don't quite understand the question, but you're wrong: each tab is a different file (.pde). They're all just in the same folder. Please look at our code a bit closer and you'll see.

Ok, thanks to everyone. I found the tab feature, but couldn't figure out how to load all the pde's in tabs. The Arduino IDE apparently doesn't allow you to just drop a folder in the sketchbook folder unless it was created by File > New. After screwing with it for a few minutes, I discovered I can drop the ArduPilot folder into the examples folder. When I go to Sketchbook > Examples, the ArduPilot folder pops up and selecting it populates all the necessary tabs just like it should!
Just to be sure, I compiled the whole thing and it compiled without error in around 13K.
Can't wait to get my boards. I've been an Easy Star pilot for a couple of years and had at least 4 of them that I have modified in various interesting ways. ArduPilot will be the ultimate mod, I think. I'll be able to autonomously fly my ES to the flying field and fly with all my friends while I sit home and enjoy the air conditioning!
