Are Pixhawk vs APM gps config needs different?

I bought the neo 7m gps/compass from rangevideo. It says its preconfigured for pixhawk. It also came with a 6 pin gps cable plug instead of a 5 like APM needs. I cut the plug to fit and the apm seems to see the gps and compass although the compass is wildy off at the moment. So am I good to go or do I need to modify anything in the 7m hardware to get the best results with APM?

  • Doesn't seem to be the case...

I've just configured my Pixhawk with the Neo 6-M that I used on the APM 2.6. Seems to work fine.

However I'm confused by the Neo 7-M (RCTimer version) which I also have, having first tried to configure it with the Pixhawk.

There doesn't seem to be any indication that the thing is on at all. Just one brief green LED flash and then....nothing.

On the 6-M the green LED stays on and when there is a GPS lock it turns to solid blue....Maybe its malfunctioning?

Anyone have some pearls of wisdom, please?!

    Thanks DP
