Have you tried it with success? I ordered a MaxSonar sensor today and if this works I will just install one from the start to save any headaches.

Not yet, but looks quite sensible to do anyway as there is a lot of noise being pushed out by the ESC's

Yes this is a well known solution to add the filters... also use shielded cables (old mouse cables are good for that) 

works great and reduce the noise!  without it your Sonar might "work" but the accuracy is not as good as it should be and there will be some spikes in the reading.

Thanks for the info Danny! When you say use shielded cables do you mean on the wires running to the sonar or for all of the wires around it?
