This may be helpful...

I have a Bixler my self, however I am a complete noob at all the FPV stuff and flying in general. I've used both the diydrones chassis http://store.diydrones.com/Bixler_SkySurfer_Chassis_With_Pan_Tilt_p... and the RangeVideo EZPod http://rangevideo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=47....  There is no place to mount an APM on the EZPod, but this can be fixed with a bit of balsa.

I used flattened fishing lead to counter balance the tail.

I've also got an EasyStar and I can certainly say that the Bixler was certainly designed with space in mind inside the fuselage.
