Bad GPS Pos and High Offsets

Hello everyone. First, thank you to everyone who contributes here. The wealth of information provided here is incredible.

I've been flying my 3DR APM 2.6 and GPS/Compass for 4-5 months now. When trying to calibrate the compass I am now getting a Bad GPS Pos error and failed pre-arm checks, even though the gps and compass fly without incident.

Additionally, my offsets are very high, currently -38, -422, 225. I have tried multiple GPS units, both have the very high offsets and I cannot figure out why. Only one of the two modules give the GPS Pos error.

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this?

Thanks,

Kyle

  • Hello Im having the same problem.. its weird i check the wiring to see if i cut or broke a cable but there was nothing. I seem to happen alot when im home.. but when im out in the flied it works fine.. i know this start when i updated to 3.1 but i would think if it was the firmware I would see more posts about thins..

    • I have had the same issue on and off the last few days.  I was thinking about posting about it too.  I lost gps during a flight 2 days ago, and sometimes i get a good gps position in 30 seconds or less, and somethimes it takes 10+ minutes all sitting in the same spot.  I do know they launced a new GPS sattelite and maybe they are moving them around causing some temporary issues?  But its something new for me too and unexplained.  I was running 3.1.1 and now 3.1.2 and the issue has been present on both.
