Hi,

I read in the datasheet of the BMP085 barometer used in the APM that its sensitive to light (and probably the airflow generated by wind and props) which influences the accuracy.

Was wondering if anybody covered it and with what material as it still needs to be able to sense the ambient airpressure accuratly.

I could not find any open cell foam around like off of a earphone. So used a piece of the soft velcro over it seems to work well.
Thanks Andrew. Good idea!
I used a piece of felt. baro is twice as good now.

Found an old electret condenser mic in my pieces box. The little sticker protecting the mic fits just nicely onto the sensor.

Good to hear it makes a difference. Maybe good idea to put this into the WIKI.

would you mind sharing a picture? this is quite interesting...

Here you go:

Becarful that the sticky is not sealing off the baro from getting air. The Idea of the felt or velcro or open cell foam is to break up wind before it reaches the baro and to keep light out.
As its from a microphone cover, i think it should be ok, as the material used there also needs to let minute air pressure changes through.
