On my APM Mission Planner I get a reading of 13.654v in the battery tab, however when I measure the voltage of the actual battery I only get 12.4v.
Why is this?

that's my problem, it's not allowing me to type in any of the boxes...
you have to calibrate the voltage divider. Type in your measured voltage of 12.4 and it should setup for you
