After a flyaway last week due to lost signal I am going to upgrade my radio system on all my multirotors which use the apm 2.5 flight control so I can utilize the lost signal failsafe.

I recently switched from an older 72mhz futaba which dropped chan 3 to zero on signal loss, worked great, to one of the cheap 9x Turnigy radios which doesnt support this feature. Only reason I swapped was the telemetry range was severly hampered.

I am looking for a nice qaulity transmitter that will have the greatest possible range and allow an external antenna so I can place the ant on a mast if neccesary. It would be nice if the unit would support 8-10 models in memory and would have enough channels and or mixing available so I can set up the 6 flight modes I have become used to with the turnigy transmitter.

Cost (within reason) is not an issue, recievers being easily avail seperatley is a must as I have 7 multis using the apm and I will need a rec for each.

I am sure this is an issue thats been disscused to ne end but my ability to use the search engine here is not so good.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • What you ned is this:

    FrSky DJT 2,4Ghz Telemetry Set

This just goes into your TH9x and will beep as soon as the connection is getting weak. Also Failsafe is supported and the range is fantastic with around 1.3-2km.

    + Cheap
