Hi all,

I want to get started with a DIY drone. I've read http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/roundupreview-of-all-the and I'm keen to put in an order to Hobbyking for all the stuff I need to put a good UAV platform together.

I'm new to RC aircraft, but my goal is to work towards a reasonably versatile platform: easy enough for a beginner, 45m-1hr flight time, scope for UAV + FPV + OSD.

The first question I have is should I go for the Bixler 2 or the original Bixler?

If I go for the Bixler 2, will the list of parts recommended for the original Bixler (http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/roundupreview-of-all-the) also be suitable for the Bixler 2?

Here's the recommended shopping list. Anyone have any suggestions for improvements or additions?

  1. H-KING 20A Fixed Wing Brushless Speed Controller - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=...

  3. Nylon XT60 Connectors Male/Female (5 pairs) GENUINE - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9572__Nylon_XT60_Connect...
  4. PolyMax 3.5mm Gold Connectors 10 PAIRS (20PC) - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9572__Nylon_XT60_Connect...
  5. IMAX B6-AC Charger/Discharger 1-6 Cells (GENUINE) - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=...
  6. Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter w/ Module & 8ch Receiver (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware) - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=...

Can't wait to get something in the air!

Thanks for your advice!
