Bixler Plane

I have a 3d robotics quad and getting ready to configure with a canon sx 260 hs to do aerial mapping.

Has anyone modified the 3d robotics Bixler plane to carry the canon sx 260 hs or similar or is this airframe and motor too small.

Any recommendations, anybody?

  • I'm new to UAS's but am very interested in Aerial mapping/photography.  Would anyone be willing to share how to get into this and who would be interested in this kind of service?  Thanks.

  • I've been toying around with the idea of putting a sony cybershot qx-10 or qx-100 on my bixler for doing mapping. If you can afford one of those it might be worth it to make the jump up to the nicer lens and optics and still be able to fit in the little bixler.

  • Hi!

I've flown Bixler with Canon S2400, sometimes. But has not many room for payload or larger battery, for more flight time.

See this post from DIY user: http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/aerial-mapping-first-results

Will reach best results with larger airframe, like skywalker (1680/1880mm), skyhunter, X8, Ogar SD45 etc...

    Good luck!
