Any thoughts on how to get airspeed sensor to work on new APM 2 board? Are there any known issues?
Just upgraded from older APM, where I've never had any trouble. Sensor is plugged into port A0 as per sketch, RSPD_ENABLE is set to 1, pipes and pitot connected correctly, but no response at all.
I'm not sure that the airspeed sensor is enabled in the public APM 2 ArduPlane code. It's working on the internal dev versions, but we haven't pushed it live yet. Please give us a week or so.
Hi Chris, Is it yet ?
I'll check in with the dev team to find out.
Thanks Chris... technically i think it's recognized, but it shows weird readings, oscillating between 0 and 2-4 m/s as described in the last few comments on the wiki.
Will do - thanks for prompt reply
See my explanation comment posted in the wiki comments.
I've elevated that explanation to the main wiki page for the airspeed sensor.
Uh, I did to. I guess not conspicuously enough.....
Nice sharp explanation, thank you guys.
I am also having problems getting my Airspeed sensor working with APM2.0 hardware! Has anyone had any luck or is still only in the developers build?
Jenner: What do you mean exactly? Did you read the comments here? We need more specific issue reports to be able to investigate.
Sorry about the vague description... here is the problem i am having;
I have two of the new ardupilot mega 2 autopilots and i have uploaded the v2.27 code onto both of them using version 1.1.19 of the mission planner. I also have an airspeed sensor that I know works on another APM1 (MPXV7002DP). I have connected this airspeed sensor to the APM2 as suggested on the wiki page (connection A0 next to the power select jumper near the hookup for the xbee) and enabled it on the hardware tab of the mission planner hardware tab in the setup (also confirmed that airspeed_enable=1). however, when I press the end of the pitot tube there is no change in the airspeed in the HUD or the status window of the planner. in fact, the value is pegged on 0 m/s which is wierd since i would expect some noise to bounce the airspeed around a little. i also connected using the CLI tab and noticed that the airspeed is constantly 0. ps, i have tried this on both APM2 and neither seems to work
I have double checked the voltage output of the airspeed sensor with a volt meter and it does fluctuate when i press the pitot tube so it seems to be working.
any suggestions? thanks for the rapid response.
