Hi.

I'm trying to connect to the apm2 to the mission planner using XBeePro24 module.

The manual mentions that I should use the DP firmware to connect, but my module doesn't support it.

Does anyone know if a connection with the DigiMesh firmware is possible? As for the moment, my connection with DigiMesh fails...

Is buying another module that supports DP is my only option?

With one hop and encryption disabled, the manual says you can achieve up to 27k. However, you may have a problem with the duty cycle. You can try using X-CTU to use whatever the max duty cycle is (it's an integer setting, I'm not sure what values are allowed.) Good luck. I don't think it will work, and the bandwidth will drop off quick with range, I suspect.

thanks.

Do you know if there's any mesh protocol that is supported by the apm2?

I don't know of any mesh system that supports streaming data like the APM's telemetry.

Why a mesh system can't support streaming data?

duty cycle and end-to-end throughput is too low, and no flow control implemented for xbee

Do you know where I can read more on the subject?

I really want to use mesh protocol, so I'm thinking of changing the source code of the apm2.

Look at API mode in Xbee. See the book building wireless sensor networks by Robert Faludi. See also the flow control for 3DR implemented in the code.

thanks a lot.
