I had given up on this whole project because the motors keep refusing to arm necessitating me to reprogrammeEACH TIME,but now the arming LED COMES ON but the motors will not start, all conections are correct ,battery is fine,IS THERE A TROUBLE SHOOTING section?
What do they motors do when you the arming LED goes solid? Are they beeping?
Pictures, or video of the problems?
Some more info would be helpful.
Thnx Andrew,No the the beeps count the number of cells and one long beep when the battery is connected then no
more sound when the green LED goes solid, the red flashes though.Grahame
No beeping indicates the ESC's are receiving a correct signal from the APM.
I've had the red flashing when I've forgotten to turn on the transmitter. So it seems that a lack of signal from the remote can cause this. However, you are able to arm the APM, so that indicates it IS receiving something from the remote.
Reading your previous posts, it seems you've been getting different results when powering from USB and LiPo? You might want to check that the ESC/BEC is delivering 5V. Some of them seem to be low (mine is 4.88V) and if it's too low, your APM or Receiver might be misbehaving.
Thanx Dave, just checked the voltage at RX 5,04v with or without motors armed, does anyone know what the function of the red LED is,I cnnot remember seeing it flashing when I've been flying before.
A few random comments/questions:
- are you arming in the "normal" way - i.e. throttle down and right?
- do you see the radio inputs changing in the MP config screen?
- is the radio connected to the APM via CPPM?
- have you been able to do an Auto calibrate of the ESC's? If you lift the throttle straight afterwards (don't power off), do the motors spin up?
- what mode does the Hexa think it is in?
Yes Dave I do arm in that way,I have put 31 hrs on this hex and I believe that the previous inability to get the LED to go steady was related to the times after down loading updates, the ESCs have been calibrated. I have just finished testing some of the motors running them directly from the throttle chanel out of the RX using their own ESCs,all work fine.
