Anybody out there using castle ice 50 esc's on their quad? If so what were your castle link settings?
I put together a large 6s quad (using extra airplane parts) and I am having a hard time getting it tuned up. Cant get the thing to stop wobbling in the air. PID adjustment is very sensitive, so much so that when I do get the wobble out I have no control authority.
There are a lot of threads talked about this kinds of question. We could not use well-known branch ESCs for multicopter.
Because its rate throttle respond is not fast enough, we should use suggested ESCs in rcgroup threads or ESCs in DIY Drone store
Now Castle Creations has released their Multi Rotor adapted firmware for their Phoenix ESC series!
After a less successful release of v4.00 they recently released 4.01 which seems to be on track.
Some of you may remember I was speculating in you DIY-fellows participating in the CC beta testing, sposored by Castle - well that did not happen, fyi.
Now I have expectations on the performance of the new CC fw, especially since I have bought 14 of them to be used in a Wookong octa and a ArduCopter hexa... ;-)
Another cool feature with the CC Phoenix ICE series, which could possibly be hooked up to our APM in the future is the new possibility to read ESC status data in real time, using the CC CastleLink Live protocol. Imagine the potential usefulness of that, if included into the ArduCopter!

When you read it, remember that the first posts (not so pleased) are about the 4.00 version. The last posts, referring to the 4.01 are more optimistic.
