I have a new APM 2.5 and installed Arducopter SW 2.8.1 via MissionPlanner. I plugged the APM to USB (and not to the copter). When I open the Terminal / RS232 session APM responses "No dataflash inserted" and "COMPASS INIT ERROR". Flight data does not work and if I try to enter the logs in a terminal session APM hangs and I need to reboot the APM.
Does anyone knows this issue or is it a hardware problem?

Well i've just fix my board. it's U3 in sch PartNo. TPS79133 cause this.Repair costs 0.5$ in china

most likely your putting the APM1 version onto an APM2. Still it's odd since the APM should auto-detect that.
If you go to the setup menu in the CLI and type 'show' you will get a big dump of data. At the top you will see APM1 or APM2.
