Hello !
have just finished my new copter
but when I wanted to control the functions
I've always just north of the compass indicates noticed!
I've now changed the APM and the IMU board also the Compass
but always the same result!
also in the terminal all the parameters are zero !
I've done something wrong?
or two compass modules are broken?
Thanks
Peter

What version of the code are you using? And how have you attached the compass?
Permalink Reply by basshead on September 1, 2011 at 7:16pm I am having the same problem, I even bought a new compass/IMU
I am board mounting the compass and using .39, I have seen a lot of talk about broken compass's here so maybe if someone acknowledges it it would save some people the cost of buying a new compass/imu.

Load the APM code, which has the latest compass drivers. That will confirm if your compass is working right.
We'll be posting updated ArduCopter code (2.0.40b) this weekend, with updated compass drivers.

Permalink Reply by Ravi on September 3, 2011 at 4:55am hi peter, may be the compass has gone. i had the same problem on APM2.12. I removed the compass PCB from the arupilot shield and found that the main chip had come off the PCB. i do not know how. i bought a new one and replaced the old one and everything was fine. i want to get it changed by the supplier since the chip came off without applying any physical force. good luck and happy navigation!
