Hello All,

After a couple of crashes, I've had to rebuild this a few times. Also, since I'm new to this, I have a lot of the orders laying around. I searched and didn't find this as succinct, so I thought I'd post it.

This is a complete parts list with URLs and prices for a ground up build of an EasyStar with Ardupilot.

I'm a cheap bastard, so the list will generally reflect that.

It includes Tx/Rx, Motor, Battery with Ardupilot, sensors, shield, GPS and Xbee telemetry.

Great list. I've been looking to make my own UAV, and I couldn't find a list with all the neccessary componenets. Cheers!
I still need to buy arduino right?
You need the $24.95 ardupilot board.

You do NOT need the regular arduino deci, arduino mega, etc....
So you need an Ardupilot and an Ardupilot shield to fly?
basicallly, yes. The GPS and XYZ sensors are needed as well, but in terms of the actual boards that you need, the ardupilot and shield kit are it.

ArduPilot - Arduino Compatible UAV Controller w/ ATMega328
Co-Pilot Sensor Module (Thermopiles)
ArduPilot - Shield Kit
Ublox5 GPS with Adapter
GPS Extension Cable
ArduPilot - FTDI Cable
Servo Jumper Cable
Um I was wondering, in the list why do you list the Easy Star airframe as seperate parts TowerHobbies.com provide a kit with all the pieces?
I could always only find the ARF or RTF kit, which has a motor, prop, etc...in it.

You don't really need those brushed parts when you want brushless, which is what the list is set up for.

The kit would work fine, you may just be paying for a few parts you don't really need.
Ok ty it costs the same though in overall
I assume you mean this kit....

Perfectly good option as well...The dang things are hardly ever in stock though.
Yes that is the one I mean but yes I see you point I have been watching it for a little while and i never seems to be in stock. :(
Ok so im a total Newbie to this. Im a military-simulation airsofter that's 15 Looking to build a UAV but i have no idea what the parts on the list do and also any suggestions for a live feed camera? and i would prefer not to take a laptop into the field so is there a portable screen or something i could stream the live feed to? Much appreciation to all of you UAV builders!
I just put together a list of my own very similar to this. Mine is also based on the Easystar but yours is about $300 cheaper. Perhaps I will have to see where I went wrong. But I like the idea of spending $300 less than expected ;)
