I've done it multiple times with arduplane in a 375g foam swiftII and over scarcly populated areas.  It works very nice.  But start out with small mission in line of sight and just turn of your tx to see if it works ok.

Use common sense if you do this and don't go putting people at risk.

  • In theory yes of course it would, but it is not recommended you do that. Keep missions within LOS - Line of Sight and below 400ft keep it within visual range. Also note, most quads do not have the battery capability to pull off long range missions, so there is a risk it will not have the battery capacity to return to home should you attempt a mission out of visual range which I would not do for legal reason alone! Average quad flight times are between 8-12 minutes unless you are using BIG batteries and even then as you add battery weight you reduce efficiency and the added weight will end up costing you flight time at some point. Hope this helps.

  • Yes, one of the FailSafe settings in 2.9 is to continue an Auto mission.
