Drone newbie

Hello everyone.

I've just been approved to join so I thought I would make a quick post to introduce myself :)

My name is Richard, I live in Barnsley (South Yorkshire) and I work in Leeds (West Yorkshire) in the IT department of a Patent and IP Law firm, mainly writing the internal systems but also helping with the support teams when needed.

I am a total amateur, I have received my first drone (a "U-Fly") for christmas after many hours of nagging my beautiful girlfriend and so far, thanks to the great British weather, I've not had much time to get out and fly it.  On the odd occasion that the weather has held off and the dog hasn't been interested in attacking it, I've managed to crash the thing into the garden fence and, separately, the patio doors.  Luckily, the drone is strong and has survived each time (as has the fence and patio)!

Anyway, I was hoping to connect with a club or something reasonably local to me that could help me set it up correctly and perhaps give me some flying lessons; I'm flexible and willing to travel, one of my hobbies is walking in the beautiful Peak District and although my camera-phone shots are great, to be able to spin the drone up and send it off over cliffs, waterfalls and whatever else we come across to get some more unusual images :)

Okay so, enough droning on (haha, gettit), thanks for inviting me into the community, I hope that in time, with help, I can come back and show my progress into this great hobby!

Cheers :D

Richard
