ESCs in and out of calibration
I have calibrated my 4 ESCs from my 3DR kit on several occassions, mostly via the manual method, but they seem to intermitently indicate that they need recalibration.
I turn on the copter and sometimes, all 4 ESCs initialize nominally, but other times some of them continue to beep as if they need calibration. This varies from day to day. I don't understand why they would be in perfect calibration one day and randomly indicated need for calibration on another day.
Additionally, sometime 3 of the ESCs will beep as if needing calibration, but if I'm patient and don't do anything, they will stop beeping one by one and I can go fly. What would cause the beeping to magically stop?

Check out the in the field calibration technique. It works great in version 55 and above.
Maybe your throttle is too high? These ESC's don't like to have neutral above a certain PWM.Try and lower it with trims and reset up your radio, esc Calibration.

I'm not sure what you mean by having my throttle too high. There were 2 times that I "set" the throttle. Once in the APM Planner, I set the throttle PWM limits along with pitch, roll, and yaw. And then when I calibrated the ESCs, I set the throttle high and then low. When you are referring to "neutral", is that equivalent to the off/low position of the throttle?
