EUREKA! Vibration much reduced.

Finally got the vibration gremlins in a cage.In Feb' had severe problems with ALT_HOLD and Loiter.

Balanced motors & props as best I could, then turned to isolating APM v1.4 from any remaining vibes.

Cut a circular plate from 2.5mm perspex (available as offcuts from decent DIY outlets) to serve as a base, attached on anti-vibe mounts to top plate of quad. Also used rubber grommets in holes to further isolate vibes.

Cut a carrier plate for APM from same material, mounted on these anti-vibe rubbers :>>>

Tried double sided cushioned tape to attach APM to carrier 1st off. Results better, but not ideal.

Then used Moon Gel under each corner of APM instead of the tape.Secured APM to carrier plate via elastic bands (not too tight) hooked onto cocktail sticks (cut to suitable length)

See attached photos.

1000% improvement,APM now works as intended by the amazing coding wizards. 8)

Hope this helps others.

  • I just wanted to thank you. This helped a lot as well. My X-Accel and Y-Accel where good, but my Z-Accel was too high and caused ALTHOLD problems. This solved that problem and improved the X and Y. I constructed the carrier plate out of an old printed circuit board which I striped of components, cut, and spray painted.
