[SOLVED] FS on Radio 0 and 1, what caused this?...

I recently flew an autonomous mission close to the launch site. I did not go farther than 50 m away and no more than 50 m high. Nevertheless, there were the failsafe conditions that show up in the attached image.

My FS transmitter was powered up the entire flight. Once the quad returned to a location near the launch site, I was able to control it with the transmitter without issue.

Does anyone know why this occurred? I have telemetry information for this flight and can share anything that might be helpful to learn why and how this happens.

Thanks in advance.

  • I discovered that a prop cut off the antenna.

After exposing 1/4 wavelength @ 2.4 GHz (31.25 mm) of the center conductor and fixing the antenna to the side of one arm, I was flying again without any Radio 0 / 1 errors.

  • Does this only happen in AUTO mode?

Maybe FS_GCS_ENABLE is set to "2" which means the copter will continue the Autonomous flight regardless of whether signal is received from the Ground Control Station.

Are you using BLUETOOTH / Android Phone to upload your missions via DroidPlanner or something similar, and it is responding to losing control from the Ground Control Station.  Try setting it to "0".

  • Have I missed something obvious about a loss of signal? I will keep reading, but I'm not sure how to search the forum for such an intermittent problem such as this. The quadcopter flies well in general nearly all the time. I don't look forward to the moment it crashes based on an error that could be corrected.

Thanks in advance for any help or link to some section that I could read on this topic.
