Ah- just a terms mix-up. Sorry that wasn't the fix!
To get a tighter loiter, I've reduced the associated Loiter/Nav P terms by 50% . It's not perfect, but I believe the current code is tunable. I hope to try out an accelerometer-assisted loiter this weekend. It will be killer once that's up and running well.
