Hi,

I am currently working on creating a ground control station for a tiltwing UAV. The basic information needed for the Ground Control Station to display is a live video feed and the GPS location of the UAV.

I am a newbee to GCS design and would appreciate any help. I was thinking of using the Ground Control Station offered by the ArduPilot GCS, but I would like to remove some of the widgets, and add the video link to it. But I'm not sure on how to edit the code. I have been researching on ways to edit it, but in vain :(

Thanks in advance,

Kartik

The Happy Killmore GCS includes a live video feed and everything else you'll need. Before you ask for help in writing yet another GCS, please check out what's already available.

Thanks a lot Chris, I will look into it :) Just wondering, is there a way of editing the unwanted instrument data e.g. altitude/vertical speed - because the budget for the project doesn't allow me to get these sensors, so they wouldn't be doing anything.

Thanks again,

Kartik.

The HK GCS is not open source. Another GCS being used with APM is QGroundControl which is open source, and has many things that can be changed like deleting instruments without changing the code.

Zach: the open code in the repository is not up to date and does not reflect the latest version of the GCS. I think Happy Killmore is still deciding what the long-term open/closed, free/paid strategy will be for the GCS.

My code is still open-source.  http://code.google.com/p/happykillmore-gcs/source/browse/

Also, you can enable/disable any of the instruments you want by going into File, Settings, Instruments and un-checking them.

Hi Paul...

I want to start learning from your code. I just wanna try to build my own GCS. What language programming in your code?
please your suggestion what subject I have to learn?

Hi Paul,

Are you planning to implement MAVlink 1.0 anytime soon and are there more features (like HUD display) coming??

Ayush.

I don't have any immediate plans. Right now, I don't have an APM2.
